Welcome to Day 5 of the "Mind Magic" Meditation Challenge. Today's theme is "Feel".
In this meditation, we explore what it feels like to allow ourselves to feel deeply within our heart space and also give ourselves the same compassion that we so freely give to others. Oftentimes, it's quite challenging to return that same kindness and gentleness back to ourselves. Through this experience, we remind ourselves that we're human beings too and that feeling all the feels is totally okay and acceptable. We discover the freedom to feel safe in our own body no matter what emotions we're having.
Day 5 journal questions to enhance your meditation experience: Responses don't have to be shared openly as they're for your own personal reflection.
1. Sitting where you are right now, close your eyes and place one hand on your heart. Out loud or silently, tell yourself "I love you." What does saying this feel like?
2. Do you find that it's easier to show compassion to others than it is to show compassion to yourself? If so, why do think that is? If not, what are the ways that you currently show yourself compassion?
3. When faced with a challenge, do you typically lead with your head (logic) or your heart (emotions)? Share an example where you let your heart lead you to a decision and what that outcome was.

The "Mind Magic" Meditation Challenge is a 7-Day experience that takes you on a journey through the self. For about 20 minutes each day, we'll focus on a unique theme that examines our emotions, thoughts and actions: how we are showing up for ourselves, others and the world. The challenge was designed for Mental Health Awareness Month (May) with a goal of bringing more awareness to our mental health. Meditation has many benefits that enhances your mental well being like calming the nervous system, reducing stress & anxiety, increasing your self awareness and more. Additionally, the hope is that this challenge will inspire you to begin or continue your meditation practice. Anyone can meditate. All you need is a willingness to get still, get quiet and go within.
