As someone who has personally struggled with anxiety after being robbed at gunpoint in a foreign country, I can say it can be a very debilitating experience. The effects of it are increased worry, irritability, stress and so many other things that are harmful to both our mind and body. While everyone's anxiety stems from a variety of factors, it is my hope that this meditation will help provide some relief for you in whichever way that your anxiety shows up. This meditation helps us stay grounded in the present moment without getting tied up in things of the past or future events that have not happened.
You'll want to have a block or cushion for this one so that you can prop yourself up. Meditation is best when you are as comfy as possible in an upright, seated position. Ideally, your knees will fall below your hips so that you can fully relax and let go of any clenching in the body.
