Welcome to Day 1 of the "Mind Magic" Meditation Challenge. Today's theme is "Begin".
In this meditation, we explore how we approach new beginnings. At the onset of something new, we may show up with rigid expectations of how things should play out. This often leads to disappointment when things don't go as "we planned". And so, it is in this sitting that we explore what it might feel like to stay open to the endless possibilities of beginning a new journey, such as a meditation practice: allowing the process to unfold as it's designed to. Embracing all experiences without labelling anything as "good" or "bad".
Day 1 journal questions to enhance your meditation experience: Responses don't have to be shared openly as they're for your own personal reflection.
1. How do you typically respond to trying something new? Are you more open or apprehensive?
2. Are you currently experiencing a new beginning in a certain area of your life? If so, what feelings come to mind when you think about it? If not, what area of your life would you like to experience a new beginning and what might be holding you back from starting?
3. Reflect on and write about a new beginning that transformed your perspective about change.

The "Mind Magic" Meditation Challenge is a 7-Day experience that takes you on a journey through the self. For about 20 minutes each day, we'll focus on a unique theme that examines our emotions, thoughts and actions: how we are showing up for ourselves, others and the world. The challenge was designed for Mental Health Awareness Month (May) with a goal of bringing more awareness to our mental health. Meditation has many benefits that enhances your mental well being like calming the nervous system, reducing stress & anxiety, increasing your self awareness and more. Additionally, the hope is that this challenge will inspire you to begin or continue your meditation practice. Anyone can meditate. All you need is a willingness to get still, get quiet and go within.
